Hello BMES families! I am so excited to serve on the board this year and look forward to meeting many of you at our events through the year. I have a son in 3rd grade and a younger son in kindergarten at BMES this year. Although I am a stay-at-home mom now, I have worked in the consulting and startup worlds for many years and graduated from the University of Richmond in 1999. Since college I’ve lived in San Diego, Birmingham, Boulder, Sacramento, and now Longmont hopefully for good. I have biked across the country with my husband, traveled as much as possible, and love to get out and do lots of different activities – anything to get out and enjoy our great state!

As VP of Communications, my primary responsibilities include managing the PTO website, newsletter, and social media. Outside of my volunteer work with PTO, I enjoy making art, sewing, aerial arts, reading, and spend most of my time wrangling my three very loud children (all of whom attend BMES).
Currently Vacant, email firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more
Duties: Oversee all fundraising activities, work closely with committee chairs for events that are primarily fundraising in nature, reach out to businesses in the greater Longmont community to secure donations for BMES PTO programs and events, and explore new opportunities to increase BMES PTO income. The Vice President of Fundraising shall serve as the leader of the Fundraising Committee, which will be comprised of committee chairs for all events or fundraising functions, including, but not limited to Turkey Trot, Boxtops, Milk Tops, Spirit Nights, Book Fair, and grocery shopping cards.

I’m honored to be serving on the PTO Board this year. I was born in Colombia, but raised in Chicago- Go Bears! I have a BA in Philosophy from Northwestern University- where I met my husband. Before venturing into parenthood, I wore many hats from Barista to Project Manager. I was even fortunate enough to host a radio show for my college station, WNUR! These days I can be found working at Blue Mountain as a Paraprofessional, volunteering, or trying to catch up on my knitting, crochet or weaving. I hope to meet many of you at our PTO meetings throughout the year!
