BMES PTO STRIVES TO SUPPORT AND AUGMENT LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR STUDENTS,
SUPPORT OUR TEACHERS’ EFFORTS,
AND STRENGTHEN CONNECTIONS BETWEEN ALL WHO ARE INVOLVED WITH BLUE MOUNTAIN ELEMENTARY.
We achieve this goal through communication, community building, and fundraising.

In support of these efforts, we communicate by:
- sending a frequent email update to families
- sending occasional reminder emails for important events
- regularly updating our Facebook page
- holding bi-monthly PTO Meetings & Principal Chats
To build strong connections within the school community, we promote the involvement of all BMES families by:
- providing volunteer opportunities at school events
- holding community events throughout the school year
- designing spirit wear for students, teachers, and parents
- compiling an annual BMES Yearbook
- organizing a group of Room Parents to help provide entertainment to students and support to teachers
- creating an annual school directory to encourage communications between families

We hold one-time & ongoing fundraisers to supplement the limited budget provided to our school by the state. These include, but are not limited to:
- the Annual Turkey Trot which raises 75% of the PTO’s budget each year
- monthly Spirit Nights at local restaurants
- Spirit Wear Sales
- Box Tops Collecting Contests
- Longmont Dairy Milk Cap Collection
- Yearbook Sales
- King Soopers Community Rewards Program
- Two Book Fairs each school year
Every parent/guardian and teacher at Blue Mountain is an automatic member of BMES PTO. We do not charge dues to be a part of the organization. However, the work we do is not possible without volunteers who contribute their time and talent. We invite you to get involved- your children and our community are well worth it!
